Vaughan, ON - June 26, 2018 - cStar Technologies Inc., the pioneer in wireless data communications solutions for Machine-to-Machine/Man (M2M) announces the grant of US Patent 10,008,083 “Passive Tamper-Resistant Seal and Applications Therefor”, the third Continuation In Part (CIP) of US Patent 8,063,779, to its Portfolio of Worldwide Intellectual Properties.

The original ground-breaking patent US 8,063,779 makes possible the real-time and on-line detection and alerts of miniscule materials fatigue fractures that could cause catastrophic failure.

This CIP to US Patent 8,063,779 further expands the technology of a ribbon array that consists of a plurality of radio frequency identification (RFID) seals on a substrate with different RFID seals detuning in response to differing tensile loads with the addition of at lease one surface acoustic wave (SAW) radio frequency identification (RFID) seal to further expand the detection capabilities..

Aerospace, shipping, rail, roadway infrastructure (e.g., bridges and overpasses), power and nuclear plants, chemical and inclusive pipeline systems including mining facilities and off-shore oil/gas rigs industries, to name a few, employ structures and materials that experience extreme recurring load cumulative cyclic stresses. As a consequence, sudden fractures can emerge that can compromise the structural integrity and dependability of the structures and materials.

The passive Radio Frequency Identification (pRFID) ribbon array of electronic seals represents a technological breakthrough that can alert industry safety engineers, commercial enterprises, and government agencies to emergent advancing fatigue fissures and cracks. Stakeholders are provided alerts and information about the severity of fractures with the information they need to make intelligent risk assessments and take action early in the inspection process.
