cStar's products and solutions are constructed and manufactured based on and protected by our various patents around the world.

While we continue to develop products based on these patented technologies, we are also open to licensing prospects.
cStar’s primary patents include:

Wireless Transport Protocol (“WTP”)

WTP reduces the number and size of radio packet transmissions over any wireless network by using packet reduction and special data compression technology. WTP also improves reliability by applying a retransmission algorithm that avoids/eliminates packet loss.

WTP is a Connectionless protocol that provides:

  • Guaranteed packet delivery
  • Packet number reduction
  • Packet compression
  • Packet integrity and security
  • Highly efficient error detection and correction

This fundamental patent that protects cStar’s SkyGate®, DirectGate®, and Virtual Gate engine compression and encryption technologies.

Intelligent Communication Server Including Virtual Gateway to Perform Protocol Conversion and communication System Incorporating Same

Intelligent Communications Server enhances communications connectivity in wireless and/or land-line networks by providing seamless interconnectivity of incompatible communication systems with automatic protocol detection and conversion.

Physical devices connected to separate networks can communicate using different protocols through cStar’s Intelligent Communication Server, which acts as an intermediary between the networks and performs protocol conversion so that messages are automatically converted into a protocol compatible with the communications network where the message is being sent.

Radio Range Finder

Radio Range Finder is a radio range finding technology that includes a range finder and a variety of remote mobile transponders. The range finder transmits a signal modulated with an address code that represents a particular mobile transponder ID. When the mobile transponder receives the modulated signal [M2], the mobile transponder transmits a return signal [Rs] to the range finder, which conveys the signal to a mixer. The output of the mixer is then filtered and demodulated to produce an output signal proportional to the distance between the mobile transponder and the range finder.

Cashierless Shopping Store and Components for Use Therein

One-stop, self-checkout shopping carts. A Cashierless Shopping Store includes a variety of intelligent shopping carts into which shoppers place selected products for purchase. Each of the carts contains a portable wireless terminal to read barcodes of items placed in the cart for purchase and a weight detector (load cell) for the terminal to audit the weight of products placed in the cart. At the checkout station, a precise scale makes a final tally and wirelessly reconciles the collected shopping contents through a local area network. If the correlation is precise, payment is processed via a credit or debit card transaction.

System and Method for Tracking Inventory

An inventory tracking system that utilizes Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags to track the inventory of items in a specified location such as storage cabinets, refrigerators/freezers, dispensing machines, stock rooms, warehouses, etc. A card/wristband/fob reader can be utilized to monitor, record and/or restrict the removal of items from each location.

Supplementary Antenna for RFID and Product Unit Incorporating Same

Applicable to inventory management for vending/dispensing machines, fridges/freezers, etc, or any “smart shelf” based solutions to simplify the complexity and boost the efficiency of RFID antenna systems. Supplementary Antenna for RFID is specifically tailored to enhance the reading capabilities of RFID tags placed on/in products, packages, etc. especially in previously difficult to read types of conditions.

Method and System for Accessing Personal Records of Individuals Over Remote Communications Links

A communications system that incorporates a record management system that stores personal records, namely medical records, relating to individuals registered with the record management system and a wireless device carried by at least one of the registered individuals. The wireless device provides controlled access to retrieve and update personal record data.

Container Including a Tamper-Resistant Seal and to a Radio Frequency Identification Seal

Defines systems and methods of using a distinctively designed passive RFID tags to enable automatic tamper detection of packages and containers with local and/or remote notification. Patent discloses “electronic seal” methodology for automatic non-attended packaging inspection and control that greatly enhances the shipment processing and auditing speed and efficiency.

Method and Apparatus for Cataloguing and Polling Movement in an Environment for Purposes of Tracking and/or Containment of Infectious Diseases

A system for containing and restricting the spread of infectious diseases within hospitals, clinics and other medical facilities by cataloguing and delimiting movement of patients, medical staff, employees, visitors, contractors and other personnel attending or on-site. The system also provides for tracking and cataloguing contaminated medical apparatus, medicine trolleys, food trolleys, medical gas stations, laundry baskets and other mobile or movable medical equipment or facility equipment to prevent spread of the infectious disease or viral entities.

Proximity Detector

A non-contact capacitive adjustable detector that is used to detect the presence or removal of an object within a predetermined perimeter to the detector.

Radio Transceiver for Data Transmission Using Non-linear Optical Medium for Modulation of Light

A radio frequency receiver that converts radio frequency signals carrying digital information into modulated light signals.
