From cStar's inauguration, we swiftly became a leader in developing innovative wireless communications technologies that allow non-IT machines (e.g., refrigeration units, vending machines, metering devices, etc.) to communicate with and be managed by IT machines (e.g., PCs and hand-held devices). Our focus on wireless technology ultimately evolved into a mission to design a wireless virtual gateway engine that would serve various vertical market segments.

Under my direction, in 1998 cStar became the first to develop a compact wireless system that combined cell phone functionality with card vending to provide an ALL-IN-ONE vending data management solution.

Over the years, we have accepted the cost of true innovation - fear that our technologies were "too early for the market" - and have boldly continued to develop and implement exciting M2M (machine to machine/man/mobile) technologies for national and international markets. From a Wireless Transport Protocol that provides the fastest and most efficient data exchange over wireless networks, to RFID cataloging and monitoring systems that help prevent the spread of infectious diseases within hospitals and medical facilities, to an RFID invisible passive seal that enables 100% security verification of cargo at border crossings and ports - our wireless solutions are as imaginative as they are practical.

Indeed, our priority has always been to use our research and development experience and wireless communications expertise to create cost-effective solutions to problems facing specific industries in a rapidly changing world.

In general terms, our products automate formerly time-consuming manual processes (like reading gas meters and dispensing controlled life sciences materials) to provide access to crucial data from remotely distributed assets, real time on-line, all wirelessly - from long distance (w/WAN), to the last mile (w/LAN), to the last inch (RFID). This allows organizations to streamline operations, eliminate costly overhead and respond more quickly to shifting market conditions - all of which significantly contribute to optimum returns on investment.

As a result, our range of solutions is aimed at several industrial sectors, including Health and Life Sciences, Security and Defense, Utilities and e-business Vending. Although our team successfully traversed the chasm of fear and uncertainty that greets advanced technology, it became necessary to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding outgrowth within the global marketplace.
